The Story

In December 2015, Nick and his family went to Crested Butte for the first time. All avid skiers, they had heard a lot about Crested Butte but had never skied there. They immediately fell in love with the town and the mountain and decided to go look at some condos and houses during their trip. When the realtor took them to a new development and an idea occurred to Nick…why not buy a bigger house and allow clients to use it throughout the year. Upon returning to Dallas, Nick discussed the idea with Bard and Paul and both were intrigued. They agreed that they all needed to go check out Crested Butte together and went in March of 2016. On that trip, they spent a couple of days looking at houses but nothing really met their primary criteria: at least 4 master sized bedrooms, large and open living space, convenient location to ski in and ski out, and most importantly the “wow” factor. On the final day of the trip, the realtor took them to a vacant lot near the top of the mountain, overlooking the town. While they had not given serious consideration to new construction, they all instantly agreed that this was the future site of the FHP CB home.

They acquired the land, selected a builder, architect and interior designer and broke ground in the 3rd quarter of 2016. The house was completed in the 1st quarter of 2018.

This house has been a dream come true for Nick, Bard, and Paul and their families. It brings them great joy to share it with their clients and friends and to be a part of some unforgettable memories!
